Low Impact Development (LID)

We are experts in Low Impact Development compliance: design, installation, and approval.

Our team of architects, rainwater system designers, and installation professionals are dedicated to finding cost-effective solutions that satisfy the building department guidelines towards your Certificate of Occupancy. We are a one-stop shop and can handle LID approvals from start to finish, in some cases avoiding civil engineer fees.

Our Process

  • LID Design – Several strategies are available to satisfy the city’s LID requirements: rain barrels, planter boxes, permeable pavement, infiltration systems, rain gardens, and underground cisterns. Greywater Corps’ fluency with these systems allows us to balance cost, function, and aesthetics. Since we install the systems ourselves we provide costs up-front; you won’t be surprised by unexpected expenses down the line. Our professional license allows us to stamp and submit drawings.

  • System Installation – Once the LID plans are approved, our crew will coordinate the installation on site. As licensed contractors we are comfortable sending our expert crew in to do the work, or collaborating with other trades as needed to realize the project as efficiently as possible.

  • Securing approvals – Greywater Corps will document the project and coordinate any submissions and inspections as needed to get the project signed off and you or your client moved in.

One of the last hurdles before we could pass final inspection was the installation of overflow pipes from our legally required rain barrels. Greywater Corps seemed to be one of the few groups with extensive experience on Los Angeles’s Low Impact Development Stormwater Management requirements. We can’t thank you enough for coming through for us so quickly and helping us move into our home.
