greywater workshop

interested in learning how to install your own simple greywater irrigation system? we will be teaching a greywater class and hands-on workshop where you will learn all about greywater and then participate in installing a laundry-to-landscape system, converting a washing machine to safe, legal greywater reuse. this type of system can be installed by a reasonably handy person in a weekend for around $150 in parts.

++ benefits and drawbacks of greywater reuse
++ legal and permitting issues
++ health and soil considerations
++ simple greywater systems:
drain out back ++
movable drain ++
laundry drum ++
branched drain ++
laundry-to-landscape ++
pumped systems ++

the workshop will take place at a lovely house in altadena. no prior construction experience is necessary. participants will be expected to help with simple pvc plumbing, drilling, cutting, and digging; please wear appropriate clothing.

cost of the seminar is $50 per person; enrollment is limited to 15 people. early registration is recommended since the class is expected to fill up.
